How to Fix Poor Stream Quality on Streamate

You’ve been streaming for years and nothing has changed on your end. Suddenly, every time you log on to Streamate your bitrate is in the red. Your monitor reads “Stream quality: Poor” in SMConnect. Your resolution is low. Your picture looks grainy when you watch yourself. What gives? Let’s look into common fixes for SMConnect.

Why is this happening now?

SMConnect is changing and growing. This bitrate issue became more prevalent right around the time that facial recognition was introduced. CPU usage went up dramatically, meaning system stress and other factors suddenly came into play when this was not an issue before. Sadly this may mean that some older computers will simply no longer be able to work with SMConnect, at least not without some tweaks. This is exceptionally frustrating when we are not experiencing this problem on other sites.

The fact that the site is growing can also mean some growing pains on Streamate’s server side. We’ll explore how to get around that in this comprehensive guide.

Minimum Computer Recommendation

Streamatehelp lists a computer with an i7 processor with 16gb of ram as the minimum requirements to stream at 1080p. This is more than other sites recommend, and overkill if we were allowed to use OBS. What Streamatehelp doesn’t mention is video cards.

Video cards can offload quite a bit of processing need by handling video rendering, so the processor is freed up for other tasks.

Because of this, if you are in the market to buy a prebuilt computer or laptop I always recommend computers geared more towards gaming.

What to Test on your Network

If you have been streaming with no issues on this computer and the change happened suddenly, you know your hardware didn’t suddenly become obsolete overnight. SMConnect is however getting more and more bloated. Let’s start with the things we can test, change and control.

Check your Upload Speed

The site most will recommend is http://speedtest.net. You don’t have to use this site, feel free to search for any site that will test your speeds. What you are looking for is Upload speed. While SMConnect only shows 3-4 Mbps in use, the reality is it takes a bit more than that and you will want a minimum of 10 Mbps upload speed available.

A screenshot from speedtest.net showing adequate upload speed

You will want to check your internet provider’s plan and ensure you are on a plan that offers a minimum of 10Mbps upload.

If you are testing at less than 10Mbps upload, but paying for it, give your ISP a call.

But before calling your ISP

Before you pick up your phone and yell at your ISP, check your network usage. Do you have roommates? Family? Kids? A partner? Is there a possibility that someone else is using your upload speed? Since upload is separate from download, you should still be able to stream your favorite content in the background. You can watch your computer’s network activity through Task Manager. There may be tools on your router to view full network usage. You can also try seeing if you get a better connection by unplugging other devices from your router. Speaking of unplugging…

Ensure your computer is hard-wired to Ethernet

You may get great speeds with Wifi, even test at excellent upload numbers. The reality is, Wifi packets may be dropped during streams, resulting in choppy and unappealing performance. It is not an ideal solution for a streamer. Do anything you can to connect your computer straight to your router with an ethernet cable. If you must, run a cable across your house. I crawled across my hot, cramped attic through fiberglass and drilled holes in the ceiling to drop cable. Yes, it’s that important. This is your business – what would you do if your boss asked you to find a solution to this problem?

What to Change

Your internet is testing great. You know this computer can handle SMConnect. What should we look at next?

Check your browser

Lately, Chrome has been the only browser working with all features in SMConnect (August 2023). If you want access to the video recording feature, you must use Chrome. However some models have reported the opposite – you might find better stability in Edge, or another browser. Give changing a browser a try if you’ve exhausted your other options.

Check your Hardware Acceleration

Remember back when we were talking about video cards and gaming computers? That’s where this is going to kick in. Turning on hardware acceleration will ensure that SMConnect is offloading any duties to your video card where possible, freeing up your processor. In Chrome settings you simply need to search for the words, and it pops up. Toggle the switch that reads “Use hardware acceleration when available.”  Check your current browser for instructions on enabling hardware acceleration.

Enable hardware acceleration in Google Chrome

Close all other programs

While hardware acceleration will help an older system, it won’t fix all the issues with SMConnect’s new found bloatedness. You will still want to close any and all other programs on your computer. This also means turning off any multi-streaming for testing purposes. If it’s been a while, give your computer a restart. That way you can test fresh without opening anything else first.

Check your SMConnect Resolution

In SMConnect, go to Stream Settings and check your Video Resolution. For some models, they’ve found that their resolution setting was bumped up to 1440, despite never reaching that number while streaming. Sometimes this will not just lower your bitrate, but instead bump your resolution far lower than HD.

An example of a model with the setting at 1440p and achieving low quality 640x360 stream resolution
Stream quality excellent yet resolution is low, fixed by changing video resolution from 1440p to 1080p

Set your video resolution to Up to 1080p. If you suspect your computer is a bit older and that might be the issue, you can also try setting your resolution to Up to 720p. 720p is still considered “HD” and will not lower your ranking.

Set your resolution to a maximum of 1080p. You can try 720p as well.

If your issue isn’t low bitrate but low resolution, this can be your fix.

Monitor your CPU

Open Task Manager, have it aside while you are streaming. You will want to watch your CPU usage. If it is hitting 100% after making these changes, and that 100% usage is consistent with red bitrate and poor stream quality, you may need to consider upgrading your computer. You can try dropping your resolution to 720p as detailed in the step above, but if you have already tried this, it may be time to upgrade.

What to Remember

You’ve speed tested your internet, plugged in your ethernet, turned on hardware acceleration, set your resolution to 1080p, closed all other programs, and your CPU isn’t hitting 100%. Everything looks good on your end. Before pulling your hair out, remember these three things.

Give it a bit

Sometimes these slow periods just pass. Give it a few minutes, and it may return to normal. If you have just started your stream it can take 2-3 minutes to stabilize your bitrate.

Give it content

If you are testing SMConnect speeds while looking at a blank wall, ceiling, or the back of your lens cap, your streaming quality meters won’t give true and proper data for troubleshooting. Streaming video size is based on what’s going on in the image. If you’re not moving around you are sending a simple, still image, much less bandwidth than full moving video. So, if you are sending a still image the bitrate may drop without any problems – it simply has less data to send. To ensure a true and proper test, make sure your camera is pointed at something moving, such as yourself.

Give it a once-over

Sometimes when an update is pushed, our settings change without us knowing. Go through your SMConnect settings and ensure nothing has been changed on your end.

When to use a VPN

Congratulations! You’ve done just about everything to confirm that the issue is not you. Unfortunately that means one of two things. Either the connection between you and the local Streamate server is unstable, or the local Streamate server is overloaded, typically occurring during contest weeks. Sometimes major internet backbones go down. This may mean other sites are down as well, or experiencing connectivity issues. Personally, I think when major sites have outages, that’s a great time to jump online. When customers get bored of social media not loading, they may turn to other forms of entertainment.

On most streaming sites that use OBS, you can manually pick the server you are connecting to. That way if your local server is having problems, you can try another further server and see if you can get a better connection. However, because Streamate requires we use the web interface SMConnect, we do not have this option.

This is a good time to try a VPN.

What is a VPN?

VPN stands for “virtual private network” – a service that protects your internet connection and privacy online. VPNs create an encrypted tunnel for your data, and protect your online identity by hiding your IP address.

While it’s not necessary for cam sites, it would be recommended to use a VPN on direct connections such as Skype calls. Skype is notorious for leaking IP information, so be sure to protect yourself.

A VPN will make all your outgoing traffic appear to be from a different location. Using this method, you can try appearing at another location. Once you hit connect, SMConnect will recognize this and connect you to your new “local” server, thus potentially bypassing network issues you may have.

What VPN should I use?

Known VPNs working with Streamate at full speeds include:

Proton VPN (Free)
Private Internet Access
Express VPN
Nord VPN

Most VPNs have a free trial, and excellent coupons are often available just by searching a little. If you prefer to use another VPN that isn’t on this list, go for it! As mentioned you will typically get a free trial to test and ensure it will work with your setup.

My VPN is installed, now what?

Great! When you install your VPN, you’ll have to pick a location. I typically pick something a few time zones away. Some will put their location all the way at Seattle, where Streamate HQ is located. Open up SMConnect, connect your vibe toys, switch on your VPN and connect. Give it a few minutes to establish a stable connection. With a little luck, you’ll see your connection speed jump back up to green again.

Blocking users on SMConnect

You can use this quick tool to block users in SMConnect. All you will need is the User ID. This will only block them from messaging, if you would like to also block them from chat you will need to do so from your block list.

Enter Customer ID#

You can also paste the full User Details URL here instead.

Enter full user URL

You can get the User ID from the pop up window when clicking on a user name. You will need to copy the ID # out of the URL. The URL will look like this:

https://streamatemodels.com/customer/details?userid=########

Remember if you would like to block them from both chat and messages, you will need to do so from your block list. Occasionally, the date will not record correctly and will default to Jan 1, 1970. If this happens, they will be at the end of the list.

Why January 1st, 1970?

January 1st, 1970 at 00:00:00 UTC is referred to as the Unix epoch. Early Unix engineers picked that date arbitrarily because they needed to set a uniform date for the start of time, and New Year’s Day, 1970, seemed most convenient. If the information is somehow missing, this will be put in its place.

Can I be a Successful Cam Model if I am Male?

Can I be a Male Cam Model?

Yes! There is absolutely a market for male cam models. The rules are the same – have a quality camera, lighting, a decent area for you to perform in and plenty of outfits and toys. Interactive vibes are popular with performers of all and any gender. A charismatic performer well versed in kink and roleplay has potential to do well, no matter what their body is shaped like.

There will be fetishists, especially if you are transitioning in any way. You’ll need thick skin, just as any performer. Familiarize yourself with cuckold, sissification, SPH and forced/coerced bi.

It is strongly recommended to watch performances from other similar, successful performers to understand what is expected in your shows. You are always in control and can decide where your personal limits are, so never feel as though you must do something that others do.

The majority of your clientele will be men. A very small fraction of cam viewers are women.

The Lovense Lush is very popular among performers of any gender. It is not recommended to use any non-flared toy anally, but if you must many performers use a condom with it. Lovense also offers several other tip controlled toys compatible with AMAB genitals. The Lovense Domi or a Hitachi type wand is also popular. While the Max is great for sync shows, it is bulky and hides the majority of what viewers may want to see.

Lights, Camera and Room Setup Ideas – Getting Ready for Action!

Lights, Camera & Room Setup

One of the highest searched for and clicked on hashtags across social media is #amateur. Remember that when we are starting out! There is no need to feel pressure to have a perfect or immaculate room. Our clients are looking to connect with real, honest people and prefer to have as authentic an experience as possible.

The minimum setup you should have is an area where you feel comfortable performing, a halfway decent webcam, lighting, and a steady enough internet connection to keep from having a choppy stream.

Lights

Standard Three-Point Lighting Setup

Often when asking how you should set up light in your room, you will be presented with the idea of the “Three Point Light Setup.” This is a solid setup, if you do what you can to implement something similar you will find success. Every camera and room is different, you will have to see what works best for your space.

The best, softest and highest quality light you can get is sunlight. Sitting by a window may be just about all the lighting you need for a quality stream. Keep that in mind when creating your setup. Proper back lighting looks stunning in photography as well.

Ring lights do look great as a reflection in your eyes, but they are not the end all. It is not mandatory to have a ring light to have an excellent light setup.

Play around with your lighting setup. Some swear by daylight white (4500K and above) as a more natural light, others prefer warmer (2000-3000K) light. It’s smart to get your hands on an LED panel with adjustable temperature to see what works best for you. A low light facing up is excellent to smooth cellulite, and a warm colored light can do well for a more tan skin appearance and smooth stretch marks.

Once you have a proper light setup, it is recommended to adjust the white balance on your camera to make sure that you are appearing in the warmth you are shooting for.

Camera

Webcams have become integral to camming. They are plug and play, easy to use and simple to configure at a low price point. They are, however, extremely low quality compared to even the lowest end smartphone camera. The best webcams on the market boast a 4k resolution, however most cam sites will accept 1080p resolution as the highest as 4k can cause slowdown on the client side. 1080p is an excellent starting point for camming, I do not recommend using a webcam with a 720p maximum resolution.

You can use a built-in laptop camera, but you will be limited in camera angles. When you type on the keyboard, your whole screen will shake. There is also a higher possibility of damage from fluids to your whole laptop.

Logitech is king when it comes to webcams. They boast extreme compatibility, quality of hardware, consistency and availability. The C920x is a great starter camera. In addition to having a regular webcam monitor clamp, it is also compatible with camera stands via a screw hole. There are many variations of the C920x, the most important feature you are looking for is that it is 1080p.

The next step up from Logitech is the Brio. This is a camera that captures in native 4k. Since  most sites will allow you to stream at a maximum of 1080p, the camera will downsample for you providing a crisp clear picture. This is a very light thirsty camera so be sure you have an excellent lighting setup before committing.

There are a few newer players on the market (Razer, Elgato) that have quality products as well. I don’t recommend cheaper brands than Logitech or no-name Amazon specials, as you may end up with an undesirable fish-eye distortion.

Any camera you pick can go on a static stand – but I don’t recommend it. Being able to move your camera is powerful. You can create POV angles, or use it to showcase seductive, teasing angles. If your show is getting stale or chat has slowed down, you can use the trick of moving your camera. A slight movement of the camera will trigger a primal reaction of curiosity – the opportunity to see the rest, or more of your room is extremely intriguing and can help recapture an audience. Here is a tried and true floor stand with a ball mount, and an adapter to convert the ball mount into one webcams can use.

Floor stand

Camera adapter

Here’s a secret – If you have a smartphone, you already have a better camera than just about any webcam. There are several programs that will allow you to utilize your smartphone camera as an input (EpocCam and Droidcamx are popular solutions). Connecting via USB is always best vs. any wireless solution, but you do have the option of a fully wireless show by using a smartphone as your camera. This does open some very creative doors and ideas! While these provide great quality you do need to watch out for overheating, also you will not be able to use your phone at all during your stream so you may want to do this with either an older phone or have another available. See Using your phone as a webcam

Room Setup

Remember – Amateur is not only fine, it is preferable to most. The best cam room is one you are comfortable in. I would strongly recommend taking some time to get ideas for your cam room by watching streams of models with a similar look to you. Do you want to have some items in your background to showcase your hobbies or gaming accessories? Are you aiming for a luxury, romantic feel with lush fur blankets and ornate furniture? Do you have a witchy, occult aesthetic that would benefit from tapestries? Fairy lights are extremely popular as well, and provide a little backlight.

Studios often will provide cam models with rooms to work in. These are very basic and look like hotel rooms, usually a shot facing a bed with two nightstands, a lamp on each one and a piece of art hanging over the headboard. While they’re functional and provide everything the model may need, they don’t exactly look amateur nor do they have a lot of personality. Your background is an opportunity to show off a bit about yourself!

I have cammed with a chair setup, a couch, a bed, and even sitting on the floor. I’ve found success in all setups, personally I will often move during my show to create some diversification and keep it interesting. The most comfortable and least bruise-inducing for myself has been on a bed, although it requires the most lighting as you have corners created by the bed frame. Give them all a try, and do what feels right for you!

There are top models that have their whole setup on the floor in a tiny corner with a sheet behind them and a few potted plants. I have seen front page models walking around their kitchen or sitting on their couch as well. Models with strong followings that have the luxury of being able to perform in different rooms such as the kitchen (cooking public shows are popular!) or back patio can do very well with a change of scenery. Your fans will be thrilled to see you in a different environment!

You don’t need to overthink your room setup. Simple is fine, just as much as cluttered can be charming and showcase a great personality. Avoid a messy, sloppy room. And remember to have great lighting!

Signing Up With A Cam Studio – Highlighting Benefits And Drawbacks

Should I sign up with a studio?

There are pros and cons to working with a studio. For most studios, the big perk is training – having a coach or mentorship that can assist you with your shows. Some studios, especially those in countries where English is not the majority spoken, will provide an operator to chat on your behalf. If you have the opportunity to work in person with a studio, they can provide assistance with things such as helping you create content, providing a space to work in, marketing, branding, and supporting all the technology necessary to stream. There are even studios that offer daily payout.

The biggest drawback to working with a studio is that a percentage of your earnings will go towards the studio. However if there is great coaching and support behind you, it can absolutely be worth it. If a beginner cam model is not able to get their business off the ground, but a studio assists them in marketing and branding, it can provide a great value to them and increase their earnings to a point that they may not have been able to reach alone.

That said, there are predatory studios that take larger percentages or sign their models into unfair contracts. A good studio will allow you to be released after a certain time frame, and will not retain ownership over all your content after that point. A predatory one will claim ownership over your name and any content you produce. Be sure to read any contract closely when it comes to ownership of your name and content, and ensure that anyone you work with has your best interests in mind.

What Kind Of People Visit Cam Sites – Different Types Of Clients To Expect

Who visits cam sites?

Porn is free. Why would someone pay for a cam site?

You’ll hear this over and over. Yes, there plenty of free sources of pornography all over the internet. There are many consumers that never spend a penny, and depend on free sites. And although that might be enough for some people, there are many others that just don’t quite find what they’re looking for there.

That’s where we come in, of course. We fulfill a need that can’t be met with limited videos – a personal connection, fulfillment of specific fetishes, and true, honest company.

There are many very personal, specific kinks & fetishes that may simply don’t have a large amount of content, or aren’t specific to the client’s needs. Coupling that with the personal relationships created with models, clients can find great fulfillment where they once felt isolation.

Is there free porn out there? Sure. But it doesn’t work for everyone.

What type of person visits cam sites?

Is every person you interact with going to be some kind of creepy recluse? Will it be just weirdos?

Absolutely not.

Let’s face it: Everyone masturbates. There’s no shame in it! None, except for the stigma society has put on it. That’s a whole other subject. I’m a personal believer in strength through education. In general, most everyone masturbates or experiences arousal. This means that often times when you are doing cam to cam, you’ll find an average man on the other end. And many times, the people who are insistent on showing their camera do so for a reason and are often well endowed. It’s always a pleasure to have an attractive person on the other end, and is a perk of the job. So let’s break it down.

  • The Frequent Flyer – This member has been around, is familiar with cam sites, and has likely been using the website you’ve chosen for a long time. They are direct (for the most part) with what they are looking for, expect to pay a premium and know to tip an average amount. These will be your bread and butter.
  • The Freeloader – This member has no intention of tipping. They may ask for free actions, or that if you perform an act that they will totally tip you for afterwards. It never happens. Many of them are from countries all around the world and will call you “bb” or have poor language skills. Be aware of their existence and be ready to cut them loose or pay them minimal attention if they don’t tip. Begging and not tipping is more than enough reason to ban them from your room. Unfortunately, you will deal with a lot of these members. See Staying Safe (Protecting your identity & Common Scams)
  • The Newbie – These members can be turned into frequent flyers. They will however need guidance. They may be hesitant to take their first model private as they don’t know how to act or what to expect until they get into it. They work well in group or public shows, being shown the ropes of how to tip by other members. Be patient! Sometimes someone you might think is a freeloader is simply a newbie and needs an opportunity to learn.
  • The Whale – This is your dream customer. Oftentimes, paired with your frequent flyers, these clients will be responsible for a large portion of your income. Whales drop big money. Whales are happy to see you. Whales love to spoil you, and love to see your genuine reaction to being showered in tips. Many whales don’t have difficult kinks to attend to, and are genuinely turned on by the act of spoiling you. Whales are the real life “sugar daddy” that many scammers pretend to be. Real Daddies pay. They don’t negotiate and test – they just want to see you happy.
  • The Happy Helper – They know exactly how your show should be run. They know what you should charge for every item, what kinds of videos you should make, and how to coach you into being a great big successful model. All for the low cost of letting them into your behind the scenes, giving them all your content for free, and constant attention while you’re offline. Stay away from folk who seem to be too helpful, especially if they ask for any kind of moderator privileges on the first day you meet. There will be kind souls out there, but unfortunately the lousy ones are louder.

In conclusion…

On an average day your regulars will make up the majority of your income. Frequent flyers, smattered with a few Whales and Newbies will be who you’ll see and want to focus on.

How do you build regulars? Consistency! Consistency is the key to success in this industry.

How to Get Started as a Cam Model – Tips for the Beginner Cam Model

How do I get started?

First off, I’d like to congratulate you for embarking on this exciting journey. You’ve decided to take charge of your future, create additional income streams and journey towards financial independence and freedom. Camming is a fun and potentially lucrative career that you have chosen for yourself. Give yourself a pat on the back!

It will be fun, but it will also be work. You will get what effort you put into it. There is no secret to success and no shortcuts – consistency is key. You may get lucky at first, as many do from the use of new tags; your goal is to channel and maintain that “luck” throughout your career.

What equipment do I need?

This one is easy to overthink. We may fool ourselves into thinking we need a high-end, professional streaming setup, when the truth is that even if you have nothing but a cell phone you may still be successful. Granted, it’s harder to read chat or set up room goals on a phone, so a computer with an attached camera is the way to go.

Computer

You’ll use a computer for a lot of the work you’ll be doing. From camming to sharing files to video editing, it’s best to have a workstation you’re comfortable with.

Computers marketed as gaming computers tend to fit a streamer’s needs pretty well – lots of RAM, lots of disk space, a fast processor and a good video card.

Do you need an amazing computer to start? No. But once you get going, it will be one of the tools you will use every day and need for success.

  • Minimum 8 GB RAM
  • Windows 7 or newer / Mac OS 10.12
  • Intel i5 processor or better

It’s not necessary to get a video card beyond integrated graphics for streaming, but I would strongly recommend it for a smoother experience and faster video editing processing time. A high-end gaming card isn’t mandatory. Anything that isn’t “Intel integrated graphics” will do. You’re looking for the brands Nvidia GeForce 660 or higher, or AMD Radeon 7870 or higher.

Lots of laptops will check all the boxes for this criteria for right around the $1000 price point. I do not recommend chromebooks or other tablet style laptops as they won’t have quite enough power to do what you need for your work.

Camera

A webcam is a quick, easy way to get started. While webcam quality is not all that great, they offer a dependable, fast, lightweight solution with low cost of entry.

If you choose not to use a webcam for streaming, you can always use your phone. You’ll get excellent video quality, however there will be a bit of setup and wires and of course you won’t be able to use your phone at all while you are streaming.

Please be advised that while webcams are great for streaming, you’ll likely want to use a better device such as your phone for clips and video recording.

Most sites will consider you HD if you are streaming in at least 720p resolution or above. The goal is 1080p. There are models that stream in 4k, however these tend to be established models with amazing internet connections that can sustain those kinds of speeds – the last thing you want is people leaving due to a choppy, unreliable stream.

One of the best and most reliable webcam companies out there is Logitech. The most popular model is the C920x – many camgirls swear by it.

1080p Cameras

  • Logitech C920x
  • Logitech C922 Pro Stream
  • Razer Kiyo
  • Microsoft Lifecam Studio
  • Elgato Facecam

4k Cameras

  • Logitech Brio

A 4k webcam will capture your video in 4k and will look excellent when downsampling to 1080p. I liken this to the last webcam you’ll need before stepping into the world of DSLR cameras.

I do not recommend any of the noname brands on Amazon as they tend to have poor lighting sensitivity and a fish-eye lens style distortion.

Remember – it’s okay to look a bit amateur. An amateur setup carries great charm and approachability, and your regulars will love to watch your quality grow alongside your experience. And, amateur is one of the most searched for and clicked on tags on social media platforms!

Microphone

It is not necessary to use anything beyond your webcam microphone when starting out. Your quality won’t be the best, but for the sake of inclusivity I will list a few decent microphones to upgrade your experience once you are ready.

  • Blue Yeti
  • Shure MV5
  • Samson Meteor Mic

Toys

You can be a model that does not use any toys, or even a non-nude model. That’s up to you! However you will have to be skilled in other ways. Charisma is important for any model, some of the most popular non-nude models have an excellent grasp on interactivity, have special custom games to play and involve their audience in a way that is captivating, keeps them returning, and tipping.

One of the big appeals for webcam viewers is interactivity. If you’ve watched any cammers you’ve likely seen a “pink tail.” This is most likely a Lovense Lush bluetooth vibrator, the most popular toy for webcam models. The great thing about this toy is it can be linked to tips in your room – meaning when your viewers tip, you’ll get a little pleasant buzz. Is it mandatory to have a Lovense Lush? No. Will you get random tips because of it? Yes. They tend to pay for themselves very quickly.

There are many Lovense toys. The Domi is popular and versatile as a “wand” style toy, popularized by the Hitachi wand massager and can be used in conjunction with the Lush. The Nora is a pink rabbit, great for solo play. There are even buttplugs (Hush), prostate massagers (Edge) and sleeves (Max) for those with penises that can even sync up with other toys. For now, I recommend the Lush to start out with as it’s the most recognizable and carries the highest demand.

  • Lovense Lush
  • Lovense Domi
  • Lovense Nora
  • Lovense Max
  • Lovense Hush
  • Lovense Edge
  • Bluetooth Adapter

Beyond a bluetooth capable vibrator, it’s also recommended to get a flesh colored dildo. You will likely end up with a few of these in varying sizes. It’s important to pay attention to what your dildo is made of – you are always looking for body safe silicone. This is not a time to skimp – if you use a cheaper toy made of TPE or other porous plastics, you are opening yourself up to infection. These cheaper materials cannot be sanitized and will harbor bacteria, and often times begin melting and losing shape. Buy it nice, or buy it twice.

[Dildo]

What do I need in my room?

I always recommend looking at other streamers for an idea of a room setup. Don’t just look at cam models, check out streamers on Twitch Just Chatting. Your room is a reflection of your personality. Ideally you will have an organized setup with lots of light and room to stand, sit and lay down. If you will be doing a bit of play, you will want to lay down a towel and have lube nearby. A hand-washing station just off screen is ideal if you don’t have easy access to a sink (baby wipes or a cup of water and some paper towels will do).

You’ve got your computer, a camera, some lighting and a few toys. You’re ready to begin!
